Travel Southwestern Nova Scotia:
Acadian Village historical museum
Here's a nice little step back in time. Le Village Historique Acadien (Historical Acadian Village) is located in West Pubnico, Nova Scotia. To get there you'll turn off at Exit 31 on Highway 103 and drive 10.3 km (6.2 mi) along Route 335. This historical development is situated on 17 acres over looking Pubnico harbor with all its little islands scattered about.
Pubnico has a very large and long history in the fishing industry and is still very active as a fishing community today. This historical village now has several buildings that you can access so you can see what it would have been like to live in Pubnico from the mid-1600s into the late 1800s. The buildings are not original to this location, but have been collected from around Pubnico.
A lot of work has been done to give you that back in time feeling, and the work continues as the buildings are still under going restoration. From the village you can take a walk down to the salt marsh or just walk along the old stone walls.
If you enjoy history, this Southwestern Nova Scotia walk back in time could be what you're looking for. You can checkout Le Village Historique Acadien's website.
